Dee Wright Observatory
The Dee Wright Observatory is a unique rock structure located in the Willamette National Forest in Oregon, USA. The observatory was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and consists of several lava rock towers that provide stunning views of surrounding mountain ranges including the Three Sisters and Mount Washington. The towers are strategically positioned to align with the peaks of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can climb to the top of the towers to marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views. The observatory is also a popular spot for hiking and picnicking. The rocks used to construct the observatory were formed by volcanic eruptions that occurred approximately 2,000 years ago. The Dee Wright Observatory is not only an interesting geological formation but also a testament to the craftsmanship of the CCC workers who built it.
